As much as I practice gratitude on a daily basis, even the best of us can slip into ungrateful mode… as I did last week while driving to teach a yoga class. As always, I call myself out on my crap and shared the following story with my students. They appreciated my honesty and laughed […]

Yoga as a Mirror for Life
Have you always wanted to start a yoga practice, but weren’t quite convinced it was worth it? Maybe you didn’t want to “waste time” just stretching, or heard it was some cult-like, religious thing…. I’m happy to tell you neither is true. From personal experience, and that of my students, I can confidently confirm that […]
READ MOREWORK / LIFE BALANCE
Do you ever feel like your life is all work and no play? Lately I’ve been extremely guilty of spending way too much time at my computer, and not nearly enough time “playing.” Although I couldn’t be more grateful for building an international yoga brand and wellness business, I now realize how another aspect of life […]

Right in time for your holiday BBQ, this new 10-minute ab challenge includes a few of my favorite, low to the ground yoga with weights moves all in a row- without a sit-up in sight. So many of you told me how you’re always pressed for time to squeeze in a workout, and that’s why I make […]
READ MOREWhat to Eat Before and After Yoga
One unexpected lesson I’ve learned from my yoga practice is that looking and feeling your best doesn’t always come from your favorite lipstick or sweating it out on your mat. What we put INTO our bodies is just as important… if not more so. My students ask me all the time what I eat to […]

I can’t believe it’s almost May, and Easter has come and gone. A few weeks ago I went on a shopping spree at Target and returned home with a car full of Easter-egg hunt supplies. I was happy to find, that unlike at Halloween, the shelves were still stocked with plenty of items to keep the little scavengers happy. Not only did they have plastic eggs, but they had plastic eggs in the shapes of baseballs, footballs, and even Hello Kitty. There were Peeps shaped like bunnies and chicks- in pink, purple, traditional yellow, and some covered in chocolate-genius!

If you follow me on social media you’ve had a peek behind the curtain of my gelato addiction- it’s been a problemo for years. I’m one of those people who can stand outside on a freezing NYC night and eat a whole cone while shivering; of course I prefer to eat it in Italy in […]

It’s day 26 of 2015 and according to multiple behavior experts, we’ve got anywhere from 3 to 64 more days to make our resolutions (or intentions as I like to call them), become habit; that is if they haven’t already gone by the wayside.

If you’ve ever been to a yoga class where the teacher announced she has sequenced the entire flow around hip opening then you’ve witnessed the sound of a collective “ugh” at the thought of it.

I hope you’re having a great new year so far! If you spent the last few weeks of the year indulging in your favorite foods and sipping a few extra cocktails, then good for you- that’s what the holidays are all about. However if you overdid it to the point of messing with your […]

Trust me when I tell you that I truly believe the most important thing about looking good is to FEEL comfortable in your own skin, but who doesn’t want to glimpse in the mirror and love what you see when you put on your favorite swimsuit for the first time since last summer? I know, right? Memorial day […]
READ MOREIS HEADSTAND A GOAL? TRY THIS
Recently I finished a chapter in the book I’m writing on goal setting, touting it’s importance for making progress in any area of your life. I never really thought much about goals until I started practicing yoga; then I was constantly excited about nailing a new pose, or sitting longer in meditation. Many times my […]
